Development Facility projects are as unique and innovative as the facility itself.
Some successful examples of these innovative and challenging projects are described below.
Promoting financial literacy - Client educational booklets

Jointly with ProCredit Bank in Serbia and Bosnian and Herzegovina as well as with the Association of Microfinance Institutions of Kosovo (AMIK), the EFSE Development Facility has produced client educational booklets aimed to promote financial literacy. Clients are informed regarding the functioning of the banking sector, given guidance on how to approach a finance institution as well as the characteristics and processes of lending, including potential risks.

Workshops on regulatory issues and transformation (BiH and Kosovo)
The workshop in Bosnia and Herzegovina - open to all micro credit organisations - addressed transformation options and challenges against the background of the new microfinance law. Detailed individual consulting of four partner lending institutions followed. In Kosovo, the workshop jointly organised with the Association of Microfinance Institutions of Kosovo (AMIK) addressed the introduction of deposit products. One-on-one consulting sessions held between experts and partner lending institutions followed.
Micro and small enterprise lending implementation MAIB (Moldova)
The first downscaling project involved the Moldovan market leader Moldova Agroindbank. It aimed for the set up of products and processes for micro-lending in the bank, and for capacity building for a core team of product managers and loan officers who would carry out a later roll-out of micro-lending to all of MAIB's branches. First disbursements were made early 2008.
