Our Investors

EFSE has attracted a highly reputable group of institutional investors. These include the European Commission as well as the German, Swiss, Austrian and Danish governments through the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Austrian Development Agency (ADA), and the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). In addition, the first government from Southast Europe, the Government of the Republic of Albania, has also invested in the Fund.

These public investors have been joined by international finance institutions, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), KfW, Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO), Oesterreichische Entwicklungsbank (OeEB), the Development Bank of Austria and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Finally, private investors, both with a commercial orientation and social responsibility, such as the German bank Sal. Oppenheim and Deutsche Bank, fund of funds as BN&P Good Growth Fund, NORD/LB HORIZONT or ESPA VINIS Microfinance as well as other private investors also contribute a significant share to the funding base.

The funds provided by the powerful group of public investors and international finance institutions constitute a significant risk cushion for private investors.
