Empowering youth with financial access, knowledge and skills (SchoolBank)

TARGET GROUP: Youth ages 7-18

OBJECTIVE: Empower youth with financial access, knowledge, and skills through a School Bank initiative that uses the school system to increase financial inclusion and economic education of youth ages 7-18.

ACTIVITIES AND RESULTS: The EFSE DF organized different activities for School Bank stakeholders in Macedonia: 10 high school teachers from Macedonian public schools learned about child- and youth-friendly saving and banking products, the financial system, consumer responsibilities and rights, and how to practically implement the educational programme in schools. The product development workshop for 25 financial sector representatives and financial education stakeholders (e.g. National Bank, research institutes, banking sector) featured benefits of child- and youth-friendly saving products and insights into product development best practices from other countries.
