Empowering youth with financial Access, knowledge and skills (Ye! Boost Camp and Pitching Event)
TARGET GROUP: Young entrepreneurs ages 16-30
OBJECTIVE: Promote and support ethical youth entrepreneurship and thus stimulate job creation through the Ye! Programme.
ACTIVITIES AND RESULTS:
The programme featured the adaptation of the electronic Ye! Platform (country guides, online community, online support and coaching, tools and software, funding opportunities) for Ukraine, the implementation of an offline training program and a Pitching Event for the most promising entrepreneurs. The training for 50 participants in the form of daily evening sessions over two weeks was followed by a hackathon bringing start-ups together with IT students and designers who jointly worked on ideas and product design. The pitching event featured the best 12 start-ups presenting their business ideas to a jury and attracted and audience that included representatives from the government, business, NGOs, and the financial sector. Department Action, an initiative that brings together journalists, lawyers and other public organizations conducting journalistic research in Ukraine, won first prize.
