Empowering youth with financial skills (Ye! Boost Camp and Pitching Event Kosovo)
TARGET GROUP: Young entrepreneurs ages 16-30, and sector partners in Kosovo
OBJECTIVE: Promote and support ethical youth entrepreneurship and thus stimulate job creation through the Ye! Programme.
ACTIVITIES AND RESULTS: The EFSE DF supported several activities, including: adaptation of the electronic Ye! Platform (country guides, online community, online support and coaching, tools and software, funding opportunities) for each country, the implementation of an offline training program for 20 young entrepreneurs, as well as a pitching event for the most promising entrepreneurs. The training covered business models, finance, accounting, tax and legal issues, presentation, and negotiation skills from experienced local trainers from the financial and business sector. At the Ye! Pitching Event, eight young entrepreneurs presented their business ideas to potential investors, financial sector professionals, business angels, government agencies and development banks. The winner of the first prize (Architecture for Humans, a team of social entrepreneurs developing furniture for disabled people) received a cash grant and the “Young Entrepreneur of the Year” award.
