“My life story is not easy. At orphan at the age of 15, I started my own business and faced many challenges along the way. Due to the support from others I was able to manage these tough times. I love my team and make sure that I repay my debt to society by being available to my customers and partners,” says Tatyana.
Even times were tough, Tatyana stuck it out and started a mini bakery in 1999 with her experience as the Head of a state-owned bakery. After deciding to bring her experience to a private business, she started off with six employees.
Realizing that she needed loans from the bank to expand her business, she approached ProCredit Bank for a loan in 2010. Her business since then has expanded to employ 17 people and now she has her own milling and grinding complex, a pasta manufactory, a workshop for packaging the products, warehouses for storage and more.
This is a big leap from the small bakery she started in 1999, and she acknowledges that it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the community and the bank. With the additional funding, she is looking to expanding her workforce to keep up with the increasing production capacity. “What I am particularly proud of is that I have managed to sign contracts with new contractors as well as to increase the wholesale trade by buying and selling third party products. It hasn’t been easy in organizing raw materials locally, but we’ve gotten there,” says Tatyana.
